To celebrate, I bought a transfer for Temmen, my level 52 Dwarf Hunter. I rolled him on an Oceanic server back last winter to play with my friend Deanna, but she stopped playing several months ago. Since then the Vans all signed up to give WoW a spin, and we had a blast for a while when the weather was bad (obligatory wow dance clip). I put a hold on my account once summer came along, but lately I’ve really been missing Azeroth. I signed on this weekend for the first time in at least 3 or 4 months to find that most of the 70’s in our guild had left.

I had always been casually interested in role playing (RP) realms, but never took the idea seriously until now. After doing a little research and asking some questions, I paid for a transfer to a RP-PvE server here in the US. There are several active guilds, many with full sites and forums to keep track of raid schedules (and storylines?!). I’ve placed an application with one of the larger guilds that is comprised mostly of people my age who are more into PvE than raiding. We’ll see how it goes, I guess.

Oh, and I should also mention that I tried rolling Horde on Leah’s server, but the thought of leveling an alt all the way up to WOTLK is a commitment that I don’t have time for right now, unfortunately. Ideally Temmen and Julia Roberts will be ready for BC by the time WOTLK comes out. I may be behind a little, but I won’t be completely out of the picture. I don’t really expect to play that much until November, anyway.

The only remaining issue: will the hardcore RPers put up with my bear’s name?

was cancelled at the Music Box last night- what a disappointment. Apparently the distributor gave them a bad copy. I even got a parking spot on Southport, one block away, which ended up being the highlight of my night. They did give me a free ticket, however, which I may use for “Music Box Massacre” on Oct. 25.

was on Real Soccer 2009. This is a must-have for those of us who used to rock FIFA 2005 with lob passes and bicycle kicks. Coolest feature is the creative use of the iPhone’s accelerometer for throw-ins.
